My role

I led the entire project, from kick-off to final hand-off, taking ownership of project management, conducting research, creating personas, wireframes, and prototypes.

02/ Understanding the problem and gathering requirements

A Deep Understanding of the Problem and Feature Requirements

Nurseries and schools often use multiple subscription-based platforms for various day to day tasks, which can be costly and inefficient. These platforms were not aligned with government regulations, leading to additional costs and difficulties in compliance.

Stakeholder interviews

We engaged in comprehensive stakeholder interviews to gather valuable insights and uncover the specific needs of the platform. Through these interviews, we interacted with various key user groups, including Admin, Nursery Manager, HR, and Nursery Practitioners. This allowed us to gain a holistic understanding of their pain points and expectations.

Insights or findings:

Four Key User Groups: Admin, Nursery Manager, HR, and Nursery Practitioners. Designing user-specific features was crucial for optimal user experience.

Adherence to Government Regulations: Compliance with nursery and school regulations ensured safety and quality.

Observation Feature for Child Safety: Enhancing child safety through effective monitoring.

Tailored Staff Scheduling: Meeting the unique operational needs of nurseries and schools.

Clock-in Clock-out with Timesheets: Accurate staff attendance tracking.

Seamless Handling of Risks: Minimising risks by addressing building, employee, fire, and general safety concerns.

Allocate staff not only in nursery but in a specific room within each nursery.

We have to ensure that our product is incredibly user-friendly, making it easy for individuals, even those with limited computer literacy

Understanding Government regulations

To ensure compliance with government regulations in nurseries, we thoroughly researched and analyzed the specific regulations applicable to the industry.

This enabled us to incorporate necessary features and functionalities that aligned with these regulations, providing nurseries and schools with a reliable and compliant platform.

By creating an effective UX information architecture, we understood feature functionality and implementation timeline.

We were able to understand the functionality of each feature and the timeline for implementing them.

This helped us design a webapp that includes a clear hierarchy of information and all the necessary features and functionalities.

Employees can now clock-in clock-out using dashboard or mobile phone to mark their attendance.

Seamlessly schedule staff rotas using schedule feature that is specifically designed for nurseries and schools.

Capture timesheets that is directly linked to clock-in clock-out, users can update timesheets with just one click.

Numerous risk evaluations are conducted in nurseries and schools, and they are all included in the risk feature, which is helpful during inspections.
